swf (version7) into powerpoint

help! i've spent too long on this..
i have Tiger OSX and Powerpoint.
i have a swf file(downloaded it from a site hqx)
it plays on my version 7 flash player and also on SWF movie player i downloaded out of desperation.

it doesn't play on quicktime saying this:
QuickTime cannot open the file: "icecube.swf"
invalid media data was found in the movie (-2008)

i have tried desperately to embed it in my powerpoint. but it says it just doesn't recognize the format. i found a few sites on the web which has very good explanation on putting swf into windows powerpoint(swiffpoint player, visualbasic tool->more tools->insert flash object) but on most sites it says it should just work on Mac Powerpoint. However,
Some have specified that flash file needs to be older than version 6. (version 5 backwards)
Is there NOTHING i can do ? i even tried to download flashplayer version 5. but it won't install on my tiger, and also, i am not sure that the thing i download off the website(hqx) is not already "made" by version 7 anyway, in which case downloading an older version of the flashplayer won't help.
even if it's to convert it into another file(like avi or mov) to insert it into powerpoint, i've tried and tried and nothing works...
PLEASE HELP!!
thanks
mikamika

01. I downloaded 'icecube.swf' from here, since the url was not provided.

02. The copy of 'icecube.swf' (that I downloaded), was playable via 'QuickTime Player', QT P, v. 7.1.1 (on a Mac running 10.4.4).

03. 'Microsoft PowerPoint' (v. 11.2.0, of 'MS Office for Mac 2004') does accept '.swf' files.
Select 'PowerPoint's 'Help, PowerPoint Help' menu item, enter 'swf' into the respective text entry field, and click the 'Search' button. A 'Types of movies that Microsoft Office can use' search result link and description will appear. One of the bullet'ed lines is ...

• Macromedia Flash (SWF)

04. To add 'icecube.swf' to a 'PowerPoint' slide, just drag the '.swf' file (from its 'Finder' window) onto the slide.

05. I did not like 'QT P's 'Export' results (with respect to opening 'icecube.swf', in 'QT P', and selecting 'File, Export...' menu item - and trying some of the available export formats ['QuickTime Pro' required]). However, by opening the 'icecube.swf' file in 'QT P' and then selecting 'QT P's File, Save As...' menu item, then clicking on the 'Save as a self-contained movie ...' radio button, and finally clicking the button 'Save' button - produced an equal in quality (to the original 'icecube.swf' file) 'icecube.mov' file. The 'icecube.mov' file was also able to be added to 'PowerPoint'.

It's also possible that the SWF file was created with an option that prevents importing. I don't know if that option affects PowerPoint, but it may.

hey thank for the replies, but unfortunately, that icecube.swf file (not the one you found on the web) still won't play on my QuickTime™ Version 7.0.1, Player Version 7.0.1 and says this..
QuickTime cannot open the URL: "icecube_eng.swf"
invalid media data was found in the movie (-2008)
i think it's the same reason why my powerpoint won't accept this movie.
unfortunately i cannot post the link to this swf file it's password protected..
and it STILL DOESN"T WORK!
