| ichat not working I got a new imac G5 transferred everything by firewire. the built in ichat works on my end, but my daughter cannot see or hear me. Called Apple Care and they said they couldn't help unless I had someone hooked up that also has ichat. that is diffficult to ask someone to sit online while Apple trys to figure it out.  |

| Is your daughter using iChat on a mac or other software? Have you checked your iChat preferences that it is recognising audio and visual?

| You may also be running into a firewall issue on one end. Depending on the brand of router, you may need to open ports for iChat. If you want to skirt around that problem, the most recent version of Skype offers video chat and works over HTTP, so that firewalls don't get in the way. |
