iTunes 7 crashing right and left

Hi - just upgraded to iTunes 7.0 and am having repeated crashes. It tends to be triggered by something, though not always the same thing: skipping to next track in a playlist, pausing, unpausing, muting, switching to another playlist, or sometimes it just decides to shut off.

I always get the "Application iTunes has quit unexpectedly" dialogue and a polite request to submit a report, which I do.

I don't have a backup of an older version of iTunes, though to be honest I'd like to return to the old style - reliable and better to look at.

I've dumped the prefs file, but no better. Anyone else having the problem? What should I do?

If I get a crash in a mo I'll post the contents of the report. Obviously now I want it to crash it's refusing to. grrrrrr

Ok, just got a crash after fast fwding a track about a minute. Problem report follows.

I have also noticed I can't get audio over the net, not in Safari, nor Firefox, nor my dashboard radio widgets. No idea what that's about, but it's only since updating iTunes. Again, grrrrrrrr....

Many thanks in advance to anyone who has the patience and ken to wade through this in the hope of being able to help me.

thanks for the link bunga, but all it did was open a store window in iTunes I now can't get rid of. Oh woe is me!

By the sounds of your post, though, I get the impression I'm not the only one suffering with this current release.
Fortunately I have an old pkg on a networked laptop, so I can at least go back to an old version.

They seemt to have r-e-a-l-l-y lost the plot with this one - looks horrible, and has brought me more problems in a week than I've ever had with my Macs before.
