iSync in Menu Bar

When I press 'Sync Now' in the iSync button in the menu bar, why doesnt it sync my cell phone. It only does .mac, which I dont have. Thanks

Which OS X are you running and on what kind of Mac?

The Sync in the .Mac System Preference pane is for syncing to >.Mac only. The iSync application is for syncing to devices connecting to your Mac locally, like cell phones, PDAs, etc.

Do you want iSync in the Menu bar and not the .Mac sync only? OK, just open the >.Mac System Preference pane and uncheck the Sync menu item. Once that is gone open the iSync application and click it. Then open iSync's preferences and click the menu item again. I find the difference between these two menu items is slight, but important in the confusion.
