Question remote Midnight Commander displaying problem

Hello.

I have a problem when I connect to any *nix server through terminal (or iTerm) and run mc there.
Biggest problem is that I get weird "a" symbols instead of borderlines of windows.
Second one is that none of Fx keys are working.

Can anyone help me?
It's kinda hard to work without mc ...

Thanks
