Mail and Address book crash

Hi there

Been out of luck lately. My girl friend's iBook with OSx 10.4.8 has started to act strangely.

1) The Apple Mail program did have some fits. Not wanting to send, just turning of etc. I thought the problem was PGP and uninstalled PGP without luck.

2) Did delete the .plist files connected to the Mail and the folder user/library/mail. No luck still. The program now stopped to open. Did not save a backup of the deleted files

3) Mail does not start.

4) Address book does not start

I did now use pacifier and tried to reinstall Apple Mail. The problems are still there

Try to make a test user account on the Mac and see if the problem is still there. If it is, then something in OS X is wrong. If the problem doesn't follow you into the Test user account then you know it might be a corrupted preference file.
