| Why is my Mac getting so slow? Okay, so I'm having some issues with my ibook. It's an ibook g4 1.2 GHz and 768MB DDR SDRAM. Basically, when it wakes from sleep its taking super long and I get that spirally thing for like 15 seconds...or it doesn't wake up at all and i have to close the lid and open it again. Also, sometimes I put in my password and it clicks right back into sleep mode. Also, it seems like my applications are getting slow. on my old notebook, i would have wiped out windows and started over. any suggestions? is there a program I can use to diagnose problems?? |

| look in system preferences > accounts > login items. delete pretty much everything. after it's done being slow, open Activity Monitor (in Utilities) and sort All Processes by CPU, and then by Real Memory, is there anything that stands out as being 'wow' that's using a lot' etc?
