| Every time I open try to open iCal, it opens the screen for about 7, 8 seconds, and then it automatically closes and I get the "unexpected close" screen giving me the option to report it to Apple (which I've done about 17 times...) All I do is try to open it! It's odd; the only thing I've done different than normal app use is change the icon for it with Candybar, but that's never bothered any other programs either... Anyone else have this happen? I could post the error code if that helps... Thanks |

| If you think that Candybar caused the problem, then remove it to see if the problem goes away. |

| search for "ical .plist" and delete it. But make sure iCal isn't running (it wouldn't be though, would it?). This is the pref file for the app. Sometimes crashes are caused by corrupted preferences. And don't bother reporting it to Apple any more. It will be months or years, if ever, before they read your comment. Doug

| If deleting the preference file doesn't work, try creating a new account and try iCal on there. The new account will have fresh iCal settings and data.

| Well, I deleted all the "plists" that had anything to do with iCal, and they kept springing back into the folder... Another strange thing was after doing that, everytime I tried to open iCal, it would do the same thing after 7 seconds or so, but now it makes new calendars (blank ones?) every time I open it? Really strange... So, if I do create a calendar in a different account, is there a way I can view it in my current account? I'd rather have it native in my own so it can speak with my Address Book and be easier to view... Any other thoughts? I'm going to try to repair disk permissions... Not sure if that will help... Thanks to all... |
