 Hd Crash This is my first post so a BIG hello to all out there. I periodically back up my mac running OS 10.3.9. I'm not sure if I was backing up the right way as it most often duplicates files the way i do it. I basically drag the USER name from my working mac to an external drive. It copies everything from it ( I think it does). Well, about a week ago, my HD on my mac (powerbook titanium) crashed and I got a new HD installed (no access to the crashed disk yet but i'm still searching for ways). The new HD now has V. 10.4.8. I'd like to know how i go about getting my information (if it's possible) from address book and entourage. I seemed to have figured out how to do itunes and iphoto but no luck with entourage. After reading their help doc, maybe i should have exported some files for archive when the drive was working. Any ideas/help/links appreciated. Just re-read my post and maybe it's not so clear. in simple terms. I want to get some information (email/ addresses/ contacts) from my external drive (which was from my last back up of previous working HD) to my brand new HD that i just instsalledin my powerbook. | If the backup go to the folder /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/ and get the mail boxes(backed up email boxes) for your new Mail in the same location on the new Mac. For Address book the data is kept in /Users/YourUserName/Library/Addresses and get the data their and move it to your new Mac in the same location.
