Unhappy Notepad on OSX...LOST?

I noticed a week ago that my notepad program(not textedit) that came with OSX is no long to be found. I have files that were save within that program that I need. I was wondering where that program is on the installation disks. Any help will be much appreciated.

-Also any open source/free alternatives to notepad that anyone here likes?

No it was called Notepad. It saved files in the .mkn format and maybe .bp? I was just checking the files that I saved on my computer and they are in that format. Thanks for the other program.

It's in the World Book folder

I just had the same problem; notepad files all of a sudden wouldn't open. I searched around the web for solutions, and nothing came up. I remembered deleting useless files recently, and luckily I had a handy backup from before my deleting rampage. It turns out Notepad is in the World Book folder.
