Apple Mail erased critical datas

Hello,

I use a mactel MacBook Pro with the last updated version of AppleMail. I had a crash while AppleMail was opened on my main mail box say 'Me'. It needed a reboot and the following things happened :

- my bottom finder toolbar has changed back to 'finder default one' as when you install the system from scratch (iChat/AdressBook/.../GarageBand/.../Quicktime..)

- my own bookmarks on Safari are still here and OK

When I starded Mail again I noticed that

- the pref where changed back to 'default'
- only one off my account is displayed
- my main mailbox is not displayed

When I browse in Librairy/Mail/I can see my different mailboxes folder but my main mail box POP-Me@Provider.fr seemed to has been scratched (only 32 ko). No 'Message' folder in INBOX.mbox, only a mbox file (0k).
Even stranger when I open my 'Sent Messages.mbox' in this same POP-Me@Provider.fr folder I can see one 55411.emlx message dating from july 2006 ! All the other mailboxes folder look OK. But unfortunatly they are not business critical !

I have screen capture available.

Thak you for help.

Although this is not the solution (although if you did it, you would not have been in so much trouble), making backups of critical (personal and/or business) is the first rule again losing stuff. So BACKUP on a regular base and like insurrance (doing it is required, profiting from it usual means disaster).

Good luck, Kees
