| Text in Safari appearing as fractions hi people working OS 10.4.9, on a G5. Safari 2.0.4. Certain pages load up with all text appearing as fractions, only on some websites. Wikipedia is a problem, but apple.com page ok. Have checked preferences - Appearance is Standard font: 'Times 16'. Fixed-width font: 'Courier 13'. And Default Encoding is Western (Mac OS Roman). Have tried chaning Default Encoding to various options available, no success. Have also tried making type bigger/smaller, no success. Reset Safari, no win. Copied the text into Text Edit, still appears a fractions. Have checked my Suitcase for clashing fonts, or corrupted fonts, seem ok. any help would be much appreciated. thank you in advance monkey |

| It is probably not a font problem, but a text encoding problem. Check the bottom sub menu on the menu to the immediate right of your Edit menu. You should have a check mark next to the first option (probably named "Default"). I'm using a Swedish version of Safari so I'm not sure of the name in English versions, hence the convoluted way of referring to the menu and submenu... |
