iTunes 7.3.1 update broke on 10.3.9

I have MacOS X 10.3.9 (7W98) and now iTunes crashes on load (the black triangle pulses 3 times and then dies). The console.log output:

Code:
2007-07-12 14:31:42.047 iTunes[427] CFLog (21): Error loading /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/LiveType.framework/Versions/A/LiveType: error code 0, error number 2 (dyld: /Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/MacOS/iTunes can't open library: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/LiveType.framework/Versions/A/LiveType (No such file or directory, errno = 2)
Any ideas on a way to fix this? I've deleted the preferences and iTunes Music Library data, but this looks to be a bug in the iTunes binary, looking for a piece of software I don't have.

What is LiveType, anyway?

Livetype http://www.apple.com/support/livetype/
Hm.. did you ever have that installed? Or any of other Apple's Pro applications such as Final Cut, Aperture etc installed?

It tries to look at /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/LiveType.framework/Versions/A/LiveType and there is nothing there (No such file or directory, errno = 2) so it crashes.

Perhaps iTunes somehow got confused and thinks that your LiveType directory is the music directory or something...

Try this: open iTunes with the 'option' key held down, which will allow you to select a new iTunes library. Then, when asked to do so, navigate to and select your iTunes library file (Home > Music > iTunes > iTunes Library).
