Unable to Restore using MAC Backup

Hello all!

I'm using the .Mac backup software and attempting to restore from an
external firewire/USB drive. The drive will mount fine and I can see
the files on it, but I can't restore from the backup utility. I can occasionally get lucky and restore a single
small file, but that's about it. I get this in the console logs:

"An internal application error has occurred. The disk archive could not
be attached."

Looking at the backup.log file I see stuff like this:

2006-08-30 17:39:15.679 Backup[545] unable to locate node for
filesystem <ZXFilesystem: 0x441730> /dev [from devfs(devfs)] so it will
not be restored into the root of the alternate restore location
2006-08-30 17:39:15.753 Backup[545] unable to locate node for
filesystem <ZXFilesystem: 0x441790> /dev [from fdesc(fdesc)] so it will
not be restored into the root of the alternate restore location

I tried contacting Apple tech support but they were useless (no
response whatsoever). Does anyone have any ideas for me? I'm totally
at a loss here and this stuff is really important!

Thanks!

Dry using Disk Utility (/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility)on the drive and do the repairs on the mounted drive. This may help, good luck.
