Adobe Apps will not launch

I recently loaded Nikon PictureProject software onto my G4 Powerbook and ever since I get the following message whenever I attempt to launch any of my Adobe Apps:

The application "Illustrator" could not be launched because a shared library error. ".<Paloma><CarbonLib>CFMPriv_SpeechSynthesis><>"

The Mac is 1.5GHz running 10.4.9.

I tried to reload PhotoShop and got the same type of message, anyone have any ideas what I need to do?

Try two things. First, repair permissions (apps/utilities/disk utility/repair permissions) and then move any and all .plist and .pref files you find for your CS apps (type in Illustrator and move it's .plist and .pref files to trash, but don't delete, for example) and restart the apps.

Make sure to repair permissions regularly. Installing new software can unsettle things a bit at first.

Let us know if this does the trick.
