HP 2100 problem on OS 10.4.1

I have reinstalled my printer several times (which used to work as long as I wasn't connected to the internet, beautifully. A problem I don't like but can live with - I just disconnect the printer ethernet cable). When I try to print now I can't get rid of the error message in the printer dialog box " the process "hppostprocessing" terminated unexpectedly on signal 5". This message came about the first time soon after trying to print a file labeled .pdf, but the printer ID'd it as a Quark document, and I deleted from the dock the old printer icon as now there were two. In Preferences, I don't have any com.mac.print documents other than one for paper size, and one for fax (which I don't have) - and this seems odd, too.

I found this problem on-line written and answered in Swedish, but the translation didn't help.

Anyone got any ideas? I'd be grateful!!

It could be a bad driver, it sounds like other people are having issues with this printer on OS X as well. Try downloading the gimp-print driver for your printer (here), start printer setup utility, and from the menu, select "reset printing system". Then, install the printer with the gimp-print driver.
