| Mac Os Tiger Not Installing Hey Guys, This Christmas I bought my daughter a iPod nano. When I connected it to our computer it said I need 1.0.4.8 to use the iPod. So I promptly bought Tiger. When I rebooted the computer and held down c, on the install menu it said "This software cannont be installed on this computer". No idea what it means by this, doesnt give us any other information. The system I'm using: iMac G5 1.8 Ghz PowerMac Its currently running 10.3.9 Any Ideas on this? Thanks, David |

| There is no problem to install Tiger on your machine. Did you select your internal drive as "Target Volume" ? Has your internal drive enough space to perform the install (around 5GB to be sure) .. especially if the "Archive and Install" option is selected ? Regards Phil |

| If you bought your install through the internet, such as eBay, and the disk is grey, then you likely have a 10.4 install that came with a different Mac model, and won't install on your iMac. The Mac model should be listed on the disk label. If the install disk is black, there should be no good reason that you can't install, but as philippe99 said, the Archive and Install option should work.

| The only iPods that aren't compatible with 10.3.9 (Panther) are the: iPod Touch iPod Classic iPod Nano (3rd Gen) If you buy a used/new Tiger install disc from eBay or another source, make sure the label on the disc is black with a large white X: ![]() |
