HandBrake for 10.3.9

I want to convert TS video files and upload to youtube, etc., and also edit them down to size. I can't download GL version because I only have 3.9, and CL version opens with Terminal and I have no idea how to run it. It seems almost like DOS or something...

Advice please.

Thanks

You could try to find older versions. I think 0.7 and possibly even 0.8 worked in OS 10.3.

Alternatively, you could rip the DVD straight to your HD using Mac The Ripper, and then convert that to MPEG4 or something using ffmpegX. ffmpegX is not as easy to use as Handbrake, though.

I recommend iSquint (or, if you feel like shelling out a tiny bit of dough, its big brother -- VisualHub). Both are great, simple, and produce nice movie files which can then be edited in QuickTime or your movie editor of choice.

Both work with 10.3.9 or later.

RE:HandBrake 10.3

Stymied again.....isquint does not accept files from folders, which is what these TS files seem to be.
Thanks though.....

No, you can't drag a VIDEO_TS folder into iSquint, but if you drag the actual .VOB files from inside that folder into iSquint it will work.

What iSquint won't do is "stitch" multiple .VOB files together into one movie file, but iSquint's big brother, VisualHub, will. You could probably work around this by converting all the .VOB files into MP4 files (or whatever), then use QuickTime Pro to cut 'n paste them together, end-to-end. Accomplishes virtually the same thing as VisualHub's "Stitch Videos Together" option.

It's saving. I set it to optimize for TV. Not sure what to do once it's saved though. I want to edit them down (music video) to individual songs and upload to youtube.........any ideas on that?
