Exclamation iMovie HD 6.0.3 issues

I'm having issues yet again with iMovie HD 6.0.3. It is behaving unpredictably and being and all-around pain in the ass.

I'm supposed to be able to cut clips from one iMovie project and paste them into another, correct (see below)? Yet, it won't let me copy the second clip in the clip collection on the first screen (the one that is 0:04:03 in length) to the second screen. It appears as though it is copying, but then the clips jumps back to its original location in the first window--no explanation given.

Is this a bug in iMovie HD 6.0.3 or just a ploy by Apple to try to get me to buy iLife '08? Even if I buy iLife '08, will this bug persist in that version of iMovie HD?

Thanks for any help anyone may be able to provide.

We got iLife '08 today; the screenshoots of it look too appealing to pass up. Hey, iLife '08 today, maybe Final Cut Pro in a few months.

I got around the above-mentioned issue by exporting the clip in question and re-importing it. After that, the issue never resurfaced. Oh well... even Macs can't be perfect.

Whoa, getting iLife '08 was certainly a mistake. Now, the new iMovie won't even boot up! It crashes each and every single time. Sent report to Apple (like they'll do anything).

Here is the error report, in case anyone can spot something I've obviously doing wrong, although all I did was install it and even went as far as registering the application during installation. When I noticed the crashes, I rebooted the system hoping that a fresh start would eliminate the problem, but no luck.

**UPDATE** I ran Software Update, which had not one but two updates for iMovie and now it runs. However, I notice that a lot of useful stuff seems to have been removed from this version of iMovie? For example, no more black and white, and seemingly all of the video effects are gone, except for color adjustment? What's up with that?!?!?!?!

Maybe they're just REALLY well hidden and I haven't been able to find them yet...

What a huge disappointment from Apple.
