Tiger / 10.4.11 / Adobe Reader 8.1.1 crashes every time it starts

I upgraded to Adobe Reader 8.1.1 on my MacBook Pro running Tiger 10.4.11 and the upgrade didn't finish, it ended with Adobe Reader crashing.
I repaired permissions and tried re-installing but something is still causing it to crash.

Can anyone tell me how to completely uninstall Adobe Reader 8.1.1 ?? (where are all the prefs, etc.) I have Adobe Acrobat standard and other Adobe products (Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Photoshop) installed so I don't want to trash anything needed by those apps.

Has anyone else encountered this? thanks

You should have the uninstall option in your Applications folder within the Adobe Reader Folder?

Alternatively, if you mainly use it just for reading PDF's, PREVIEW is faster and just as effective, allowing you to highlight and copy text!

It would be best to know if you are using CS3 (or another suite) or just a standalone Adobe Reader.

best,

no uninstall

nope.. there is not an uninstaller in the folder..

regardless, I found the issue... a new (old) font I installed was causing the problem. It is an old .suit font that was crashing Adobe reader on launch.
