Webcam effects and settings

Hello,

In photo booth theres several effects and brightness settings etc.

Is there any application which allows you to access these settings, in other webcam applications? I'm using Mercury messenger for MSN webcam chat - but it's very dark and I need to edit the visual settings somehow.

I used to use Mercury a while back so im going off memory here. But if you go to 'System Settings' in mercury and then to 'Webcam' you can edit the picture given by the webcam by sliding the Brightness ..etc.. bars to the left and right.

Again, i dont use Mercury anymore so i may be a little out on certain things.
