| Black Thumbnails iPhoto imports Scanned photos (JPEG format) imported into iPhoto produce black thumbnails. I have to change the scan format to TIFF to obtain normal color thumbnails. What is the problem? Werner  |

| iPhoto won't create thumbnails for images that have thumbnails. Your scanner software or whatever your using for importing your images is not making a thumbnail. You can rebuild your entire iPhoto Library of Thumbnails (Close iPhoto and start it by Command-Option-clicking it) and choosing the first two options, I believe. This will take awhile. Optionally, you may try to update the thumbnails of the files before you import them into iPhoto. Seems like there is a way to do this in the Finder, but I know a free graphic application Graphic Converter will create thumbnails for images. |
