| Camera does not work? I bought a Macbook 2 days ago and the camera worked when I went through the initial set up. Now when I load photo booth the options are grayed out. When I look at the video options in ichat it says there are no cameras attached. What could be the problem here? |

| Let's see if it really is hardware or not. Make a new user account on your system, log in as that user, does the camera work there? |

| I am not sure what happened, but when I got home from work everything works again. I did uninstall the Parallels demo, maybe I needed a reboot afterwards? This is my first Mac so I'm not sure. Thanks for the reply. |

| BTW, the MacBooks (as well as the MacBook Pros) were just updated today so you should be able to return it for a new one at no cost. Apple allows you to exchange it for a new one within 7 days of purchase if you buy an older model right before an upgrade to the model is made. http://www.apple.com/macbook http://www.apple.com/macbookpro

| Take it to the Apple Store and show proof of purchase even though it wasn't at the Apple Store. Let them know that you bought this and were not aware that they were updating their systems. They will hopefully accommodate you accordingly.

| Thanks for the advice, I'm really loving my Mac so far. I've been a long time Windows and Linux user (I even do Windows programming for a living) and I am really impressed so far. |

| Glad you like it. I've been a Mac user for years now, and an Apple user for even longer (Apple IIc). I do use GNU/Linux a lot and I'm dabbling with FreeBSD, but I do come back to the Mac quite often. ![]()
