Networking my printer

Hello MacOSX support member,

I am trying to network my Lexmark Optra Rt+ printer via my Netgear Rangemax Router. I have a cross over Ethernet cable between the router and the printer and patch ethernet between the router and my MacMini. The router continues the orange light on Port 2, where the cable is plugged into. Trying to print I get the message: "Connecting to 192.168.1.1 on port 631... Network host '192.168.1.1' is busy; will retry in 20 seconds..."
How do I get this printer to print for me?

Thanks
Jan

You should not be using a crossover cable anywhere in your current setup. With the proper cabling, then download the appropriate driver here.
