Problems with Dashboard and iCal

I've started to notice my macbook acting strange last weekend. I can not open iCal anymore. When i open it, it just unexpectedly closes withing seconds. Secondly, Dashboard does not work anymore. When i hit F12, the shortcut for my dashboard, it brings firefox to the front and dashboard does not open at all. Does anyone have any ideas. I tried removing certain files from /library/preferences, and i also typed 2 lines into terminal witch should have helped the restart the dock.

Now I'm having another problem. I tried to open up special characters from Finder, and now it does not open, it just flashes on the screen every couple minutes. It is sounding more and more like a virus.
