mov to mpg? iMovie?

On my iMovie, mov video files doesn't work it shows up as a white screen also on my quicktime. But mpg files works prefectly on my imovie. Can someone help me find a codec or a mov a mpg converter for Mac OS X 10.3.9? thanks.

Do you have Flip4Mac installed on your Mac? It may help if you downloaded it ....
