| OS X 5.3 Upgrade my automatic software update said i should install 10.5.3 so I tried. After download and saying restart as requested the machine just got a little way in to configuring and stopped. I left it for about 90 minutes and still no progress so I re-booted. Tried again and gave up with the same issue. So as per the help links i downloaded 10.5.3.dmg and tried to install but it failed with error code 4960. Tried downloading and installing again ( 3 x ) but with the same results. What do I need to do to get the upgrade to install? | Are you downloading the correct 10.5.3 update package? There are no less than four versions of it on Apple's site -- two for Mac OS X Server (Delta and Combo updates), and two for Mac OS X (Delta and Combo updates). Which exact version did you download and try to install? Hint: you want the Mac OS X Combo 10.5.3 updater.
