Mac OS 10.4 Installer keeps restarting

I'm trying to reinstall Mac OS 10.4 (original install disks) on my MacBook 1.8GHz Core Duo. Every time i boot the installer, I get to the desktop screen and it restarts. Now, about 7 months ago, my ex spilled egg nog on the keyboard while we were watching a movie. I've replaced all the effected hardware i found (keyboard, ram, hard drive). I'm kinda at a loss for creating a partition on my external with an image of the restore disks because the only os i can get to install on my macbook is vista. So, needless to say, that's what i'm using right now. While I can live with this because I at least have a working laptop, I bought a macbook to run mac os. And vista has proved usefull in finding a possible cause. Bitlocker won't let me encrypt the hard drive because it can't find a working TPM. I know mac os looks for this peice of hardware before allowing an install of it's os. But if that's the case, won't the installer at least tell me it can't install since it managed to load to the point where i can see the menu bar across the top of the screen? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
