Address Book does not open or work

Hey, my address book does not open or work (don't think it ever has but I never tried). I select it from the applications menu directly but it just appears like blink and then it's gone. I can't save any new ichat buddies or do much of anything.

I'm not a newbie but I've never had this kind of problem before.

Thinking about getting mobileme but it will be useless without address book.

Have you tried repairing permissions? Also try removing the preference file from your ~/Library/Preferences/. You can also try moving (not deleting) the address book support folder in ~/Library/Application Support. If that works then your problem lies within on of those files.
