Can't transfer video from Sony DCR-HC42E to Macbook Pro

I have this camcorder and when i plug it Macbook Pro doesn't even recognize it. What do i do? I have tons of mini casettes and can't edit or watch them on Macbook PRO

Please help me if you know what to do!!!
