File Sharing

I have an issue with a MAC OS X system that when you enable personal file sharing from System Preferences. The file sharing disables itself immediately, when from another MAC, I go to the AFP:// address of the sharing MAC. I get a server interruption error on the MAC that is trying to get to the shared MAC folder. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
