Using Applescript to edit Address Book

I have around 2000 entries in my address book. Most are properly formatted but some only consist of email addresses. I want to use Applescript to go through the address book, find email-address-only contacts, search for other contacts with the same email addresses and then merge them (or at least set the names in the empty contacts).

Can anyone suggest how to do that?

Thanks!

Bruce
