Type/Creator when using Stuffit Expander?

Hi.

Is there a way to teach Stuffit (Expander or Deluxe) to assign certain file type/creator to files created on non-Mac systems?

Problem: I transferred a tar-ed and gzip-ed archive of C source code (extensions .C, .H, .O and so forth). When I unpacked it using Stuffit Expander, the .C files show the GraphicsConverter icon.

How can I teach Stuffit to assign the type "TEXT" to .C and .H files, and to assign some creator (like "R*CH") ?

I tried to assign the AlphaTk as a creator for .C files using the Get Info panel, but the still don't show a specific icon, just the generic empty rectangle. Double-clicking sucha file correctly launches AlphaTk.

But unstuffing the next such archive produces the same problem (which did not exist in OS 9, so it is due to OS X), and this leads me (and the reader) back to my initial question.

Any helpful suggestion are highly appreciated.

Cheers,

doedel
