FAXstf X - (How) does it work??

I got the FAXstf X with my ibook. I never bothered to figure out how it works, except now when i needed to send a fax.

And it is a complete mystery to me.

I added the internal modem etc as instructed in page 1 of its quickstart info.

I launched fax browser, as said to do next, and opened its preferences, and wanted to add my contact info. It does not allow me to do it. Every time it complains I must have a name, last name and a fax number in the vcard. And i do.

I can not get over it. Trying to fax anything from text edit does not work, i assume because i have no 'profile' in the fax center. And of course i have no profile, as i can't choose mine or anyone else's. When the profile has name, last name, address etc, fax number and so on, it still says it has name, last name and fax number missing.

Am i just plain stupid today or what am i missing of FAXstf X? Anyone manages to use it?

did you try updating to latest version of FaxSTF(10.1.3). Most opinions seem to agree that FaxSTF X sucks big time, at least I've never seen a post expressing pleasure about how great it is! Good faxing software I have heard is Page Sender. I have some good experience also with FaxCenter (used to be called Cocoa efax)

The infos how to use were horrible. The howtouse-file opens with Acrobat, and I get THIS note before it opens!! This should be in the top 20 of the most ... whatever, notes a program gibes you!
