Are you going to be integrating this with a POS? Do you need payroll? Is this a sole proprietorship or a corp?

A lot of people like Bigbusinss and MYOB ...I prefer Quickbooks and CheckMark Multiledger since they intergrate a bit better with some of my other apps.

It's a Corp, LLC. No, I do not need a payroll.
QuickBooks Pro is $300 and it's the only version they made available for Mac users versus Windows where you get more choices - not nice.
Can a user upload bank/credit card statements with MYOB firstedge? And if so, does it really work in real life?

You can't upload things, doesn't support any kind of connection. I got MYOB firstedge free with something I bought last year. I really wasn't that happy with it. To me its a simple contact manager, sales/invoice manager and digital checkbook log... that's about it. You can definetly import checking or credit card accounts into it, but can't pay bills or anything like that online if that is what you mean...However, if you need any other business service like bill pay or direct deposit I believe they offer these kind of add on services.
