| Save default document settings in Illustrator CS? A long time ago I found instructions on how to permantly save the settings so when I create a new document in Illustrator CS on Mac OS X, it would pull them up. An example is resize the artboard and file window so it appears inside of the toolbars and pallette windows on the right and left instead of showing up underneath them. If anybody can tell me how to do this I woudl appreciate it.

| In doing some very quick research, you can create a new document with the settings you want and then Save As Template. Not sure if it saves the window/pallet locations, but it just might if you arrange those before you do your save. The one feature Illustrator CS leaves out (so we can miss it when we are away from InDesign!) is Workspace control. ![]()
