Fonts in Font Book

Hello there,

I'm a little confused with Font Book, or should I say, I dont know what I'm doing really!!

Basically I got greedy with collecting fonts from various sources and just began installing them without learning anything about font management. I got bored and stopped installing when I reached 750 fonts so I kept the others in folders in My Documents.

What I would like is to delete them all and start again putting them into collections and keeping everythig tidy. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do here - should I delete and re-install or not. Should I use another font management program?

I've had a problem with MS Word unexpectidly quitting everytime I try to open it and I've discovered from reading forums that it is probably caused by a corrupt font along the way somewhere!! So I'm wondering what I should do for the best.

Any help will be grately appreciated.

Paul

I suggest NOT using FontBook for any larger collections. Apple unfortunately did not do a very good job with it, it's slow, it crashes on large collections, its cumbersome... all in all, it's just not worh the trouble for anyone who is serious about their font follections.

Give Suitcase X11 a try, not free, but very good
