| Hi, I just set up a mail server using Kerio Mail Server (an Exchange compatible server), to use in combination with my PCs and Mac. Everything seems to work fine, however I encountered some minor issues. Perhaps some of you can help me? 1. Entourage only seems to update the mail boxes at its startup, not permanently (as does Outlook on my PC). I have to restart Entourage to see new mail. Can this be changed? Does it have something to do with Entourage's "offline working" functionality (I have disabled this in the menu). 2. Read/unread status does not seem to be picked up by Entourage. When a mail is marked read in my Outlook, it still shows up as unread in Entourage. Can this status be synced? 3. I read in the help files from Entourage that Calendar appointment categories can not be synced. This is a real bummer, as I became to rely very much on the nice colouring in month view for the various categories when I still used Entourage as a stand alone program. Is there now way at all (using a third party script/plugin) to send the Categories to the Kerio/Exchange server as well? Thanks in advance for any help! |

| You have emailed Kerio's tech support before posting here right? That would be the first place to start. What did they say? The synch....or not synching as it is in Entourage is normal. There is no way to tell it when to synch which is stupid. Read the help and or the entourage / exchange documents up on http://www.microsoft.com/mac. The have the specifics for when they sync.

| Sounds to me like you haven't setup Entourage to pick-up mail from the server on a repeating schedule. Go to Tools on the menubar and select Schedules double click send and receive all, now setup a repeating schedule. When you setup outlook with an exchange server it uses mapi not imap, this allows the server to push the emails to the client when they are received. As Kerio uses imap services you have to setup a schedule to receive and send emails. The other problems you have contact kerio direct they are very helpful. |
