Stuffit takes forever to start.

Whenever I start Stuffit, it bounces in the Dock for about a minute before it opens. I have turned off "check for updates at startup" and removed the plist files, but nothing seems to help.

What's the matter with it?

Ok. It works now. That must have fixed it. I just needed to restart it twice.

Actually it happens with me also. I always find that stuffit never really starts up for me quickly. Any suggestions on how to fix it ?

not really a solution you might accept, but I only use StuffIt for .sit and .sitx files. For everything else (tar.gz, .bz2, .zip) I use CleanArchiver. It's a lot faster and it's free.
