making images I'd like to be able to create and restore images like ghost on windows. Is there a similar program for OSX. It would be much easier to do this from a workstation acting as a ghost server rather than trying to use external hard disks. I've used disk utility with an external drive, but then you have to have a seperate OS installed for each type of mac to be able to boot from the external drive and drag the image over to the client machine. this is a pain and I'm looking for a better solution as I support many different macs. Any help would be appreciated.

Check out BootCD http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/15196 You can continue to use Diskcopy to make the image of your drive because it boots into a full 10.3.x enviroment from the CD. It is REALLY slow to boot, but it is the only solution that I know of other than having a panther server to do netboot with.

You could also use bombich's Carbon copy cloner to make your images fairly easily. Runs from your current OS install. http://www.bombich.com/software/ccc.html

Is there no network utility similar to that of ghost that you don't need a X server? There has to be an easier way than doing it one by one.
