Odd characters in Mail.app and Adium

Mail.app and Adium, in the past 24 hours, have started randomly turning names, and messages in to all sorts of jumbled text and unreadable odd characters. If I close the programs and restart them, they'll be back to normal for a while and then switch back to it.

It sounds like you have some corrupted fonts. I had a similar problem a while back but a great piece of shareware was out there that fix it. It is called Font Finagler.

Well neither Finagler or that apple doc did the trick. I'm getting these odd characters all over the place in many different apps now.

I'll check those out when I get home. Also, just FYI if it matters, these problems occur AFTER I open Extensis Suitcase. None of the fonts are actually activated, but that's when problems with fonts start happening. I suspect it's some bad fonts (i've got about 3,000) but the "scan & repair" feature in suitcase isn't really good for anything.

You either have a corrupt font or cache.
