Toast help

Hi Everyone,

I am desperate for some help with the following.
I have an ibook G3 laptop which has a CD reader only.
I wanted to take off my whole photo album from my iphoto software and write it onto cd and then transfer it onto my windows pc which has a greater capacity for storage.
I bought a Lacie d2 cd-rw with Roxio Toastlite software.
I then added all my photo albums from iphoto into the Toastlite application window and clicked on the big red record button in the bottom left corner of the window.
Then it proceeded to transfer all the albums onto the cd which I had earlier inserted into the cd-rw which in turn revved up when this process was activated,I even saved onto my desktop as a ".disc" file when given the option.
I then checked both the file on the desktop and on the cd icon (also on my desktop) and the photos were there.
I then deleted all the photos from my iphoto suite.
Then later when I went to open the files again a message came up " some files could not be added because they could not be found".
I cannot find them anywhere ( inc trash) I also put the cd into my windows pc and it said it did not recognise the file, yet when I used toast I ticked the mac and pc option?
I fear that I have lost my photos forever, unless someone can help ?

are you sure you actually burned your cd??? it might come across to me like you didn't really burn the cd, more like "saved a cd"/choosed the contents to burn later..

this would only make aliases of the original files, thus when trying to access the .disc after deleting the originals would make the aliases come up with a no-good path, as they can't find whatever files they were originally connected to..

i hope i'm wrong, but this is what it seems to me that you did.. unless you actually heard/saw(toast indicates burning progress in % while burning) toast burning the cd..

alex.
