iSync 2.0 not Automatically syncing iPod

I did a clean install of Tiger on 4/29 and have had no issues other then with iSync. I have a 2G iPod mini that I'm having problems automatically syncing with iSync. I have opened iSync, added my iPod and selected the “Automatically sync when iPod is connected.” Unfortunately, this is not happening. If I manually choose Sync Devices everything works just fine. I have turned on the menu bar icon so I can see if iSync is working automatically, but the arrows never spin by themselves, only if I choose Sync now. I have tried removing my iPod from iSync and re-adding it, I’ve repaired permissions; I’ve even used the latest iPod update software to reset my iPod. iTunes opens just fine and syncs all my music each time I connect, but no iSync. I have found a knowledge base article on Apple’s website that I was going to try (deals with getting rid of corrupt prefs files.) http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301367 Is anyone else having this issue, or know what I might try to fix the issue? Everything was working just fine in 10.3.9. My iPod is connected via USB 2.0. I’d greatly appreciate any feedback.

Any luck with this? I can't even get iSync 2 to recognise my iPod let alone actually sync with it.

Apple has changed the way we Sync the iPod with contacts and addressbook. Upgrade to iTunes 4.8 and there you'll be able to sync everything the iPod can handle.

Guess their timing was off. iTunes 4.8 was intended to ship with Tiger was intended to ship with the new iTMS locations but finally, something went wrong. Either iTunes 4.8 had some trouble or some country wasn't "iTunes ready".

Still, I think synching should be more centralised... Alas it seems they want to bind the iPod to iTunes (even photos are synched not with iPhoto but with iTunes...).
