Diskwarrior and Tech Tool Pro are good applications. Keep away from anything bearing the Norton name, though.

Doesn't Macintosh Manager take care of this on OS X Server?? I remember there being something for Mac OS Classic called Apple Remote Administration Toolkit or something of that nature, that allowed you to view others desktops (you could tell you were being monitored because you would see a pair of eyeballs on the menubar) as well as remotely control and lock out client machines.

We used to use it in our MacLab for training seminars. It worked great when presenters needed everyone's attention or when they needed to monitor what others were doing.

Remote Desktop

we use remote desktop from Apple and it waorks fine with our school of 35 macs (config below)... you can copy/delete progs to workstations from your admin mac as well as about 30 other different things... can also view/control and send messages to individual/groups of macs, check out system and hardware configs of all networked machines... lots of things to do with it... saves a lot of running around doing individual installs and tutoring
