help with applescript

Would it be possible to make a applescript that switched between to prefrences becoz my sister always changes all the prefs for msn messenger so i thought that say i had to prefs 1 called msn meffenger.prefs or wateva its ment to be called and one called msn messenger1.prefs and then make a applescript that switched thier names when run and then launches msn.
is this possible? if so can someone please write me a script

Uh. Create an extra User account for the computer. You will both have your own preferences then.

Yes, that is what I would suggest. But an Applescript like that is possible, I know because I had to create a much more complicated version for something else I was doing.

Ok ill create another user just thought it would be easyier to do it with AS since all my work it on the current user so i guess ill have to transfer that accross

If you use it mostly now, create an extra user for your sister, and just move HER stuff. simple.

do you know how i could edit msn messenger so it uses a different prefs coz then i could just make a nother version of msn and tell it to use the other prefs

Um, why would you do this? Did you have trouble getting the second user account set up?

I doubt you could get it to use another preference file, even if you have two copies of the program, unless you use a different account, since most programs store preferences in your user library.
