Intermittently my HP Deskjet 5150 will not print a document until I pull out the Airport Express from the power source and then plug it back in. Then the printing will work fine for a day or two. My OS is 10.4.11 on Mac Mini. Does anyone have any ideas as to the problem? Thanks for your time

Accessing wired devices from AP Express

Hello. I have installed Airport Express by plugging it into my old wireless router and turning off the wireless function on it. All my wireless devices are connected with no problems, but I have a Linkstation network drive also connected to the wired router which I can no longer access. I turned off the wireless function because it cannot participate in a WDS network with WPA on. Any suggestions?

Speakers - recommendations for iMac

Hey all,

I'm looking for some feedback as to what speakers to get for an iMac 24" (when we finally get our hands on it)

It must:

* Be great for positional audio for gaming
* Perform brilliantly at producing my high bitrate iTunes library.
* Meet points 1 & 2 baring in mind my room is longer than it is wide - 8 feet wide by 13 feet long

It must not:

* Be a mess of wires - it's connecting to an iMac after all
* Exceed £200 (excl. P&P)

2.1 channel or 5.1 channel audio is fine, it's the quality I'm more concerned about.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated :D

Thanks,
nirelandman

Regular vs. Smart Playlists in iTunes

I'm currently using a combination of normal and smart playlists in iTunes. I've got normal playlists for all my albums, and smart playlists for music I have as an album but never really listen to as an album, for example, my Jazz smart playlist consists every song with the genre as "Jazz".

Needless to say, this takes a lot of organizing but it's definitely worth it. Now I've been thinking about making them all Smart Playlists, this would make organizing even more miticulous, but there wouldn't be "accidents", like songs I accidently deleted from a playlist when hitting the delete button or w/ever.

Since smart playlists update on-the-spot if you add new songs, I was wondering if they use more CPU? iTunes is already a memory/resource hog, will adding hundreds of smart playlists make a big difference in resources used?

Hi, I have two mac connected. I can share files easily by adjusting the Share under the preference but what if I have a folder that is under the directory of Document or Home? I cannot see them under my network even when I added it under the Share preference?

I believe it has something to do with the administration setup but how?

Thanks in Advance.

OS 9.1 + Cisco PCM 350 Series Wireless + WPA

Here Goes Nothing!

I have said card and said OS. I also have a Verzion AP that I encrypt using WPA. Works great on all my semi-new windows boxes but not on this Powerbook G3 Wallstreet with this Cisco card. As many of you know it can be interesting getting a non-airport G3 equipped with wireless, lol.

The cisco utility doesn't seem to have an option anywhere to connect to a WPA Access point even though the card states that it supports it. So is this a limitation of the driver or of OS 9.1? Anyone else have similiar experiences with this card? Am I doing something wrong (because chances are I am) or is it just not going to work and am I going to have to set down my security to WEP 128Bit in order to get this PB to connect?

Hi there. I have an Intel Mac Pro which I bought new last year. It has 8GB RAM and four large-ish internal drives. And it's become so slow I can't use it for anything. This has happened to me three times before and out of frustration I replaced the hard drive once and formatted it another time. Both times it came back up to speed, but I can't do that every couple of months.

It's freezing during ridiculously little things, too, like when I open up the system preferences to adjust the input volume. I get the spinning beach ball indefinitely and have to do a forced quit on the system prefs.

I have bought and run: Disk Warrior, Macaroni, Onyx, Mac Maintenance, and Tiger Cache Cleaner. Can you tell I'm desperate?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. No one seems to know what the heck is going wrong. I don't download stuff other than programs connected to my work (Photoshop editing), so I can't see why this would happen.

Thanks.
