TICKET ARCHIVE -> 160 gb lacie drive freezes at every use

I've had this 160 GB Lacie drive for 2 years, its nearly filled with music and I use nearly everyday with never a problem on my ibook G4. Just the other day I was listening to a song, it just stopped playing and the little spinning color wheel comes up and im not able to touch a thing on itunes...everything else works fine. So i try and try to force quit..nothing happening, try to eject the drive..doesn't work either just is all sketchy and freezes the dock as it gets brought up.
So after this day I've updated my itunes, and tried to watch a movie from the drive, it played for a while then quicktime froze much the same as itunes did, cant eject the drive....same thing. This happens with music and everything still so, it loads up on the computer fine, can open it up, can eject it if it hasn't frozen on me yet, and plays music for a while (about 5 songs) then freezes again.
Oh, while its frozen on the computer it doesnt seem to be running or anything, no sound, buzz anything, nor is it absurdly hot by anymeans either. HELP HELP HELP PLEASE

I would try running some disk utilities like Disk Warrior on the drive to see if there are any issues with it. Sounds like it might be starting to fail or has some serious corruption.
When your computer locks up, and you unplug it and plug it back in, does it come back alive?

Thank you very much for the suggestions!, I apologize for taking a couple days to back to you however your persistence is greatly appreciated. It's working fine again for some reason. Once it has frozen up on me and i just turned it off, then the itunes immediately snapped back into action. So I think its just on the fritz every now and then i suppose. If this becomes a regular thing I'll be sure to use your suggestions.
