DESCRIPTION:
I'm an expert on the Mac platform, but very new to the PC platform. I have a friend running Windows98 on his computer. He is envious of me running a 21" monitor as my main with a 17" as my secondary monitor. I heard that this may be supported in Windows98 and am wondering if you can tell me what is involved in making this happen - the more details the better as he is not a real tech kind of person. I am, but on the Mac.

SUMMARY
This article describes how to enable the multiple display support feature using Windows 98.
MORE INFORMATION
The primary requirement for multiple display support is that the display adapters must be Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) devices, or Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP) devices.
To enable multiple display support, follow these steps:
While the computer is turned off, add any additional display adapters and monitors.
Start Windows. Install the display adapter and monitor drivers if necessary, and then restart your computer if you are prompted.
Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Display, and then click the Settings tab.
In the Display box, click the adapter you want to use, and then click the "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor" check box to select it.
Click OK.
