Hi Rizwan,

There are a number of very good slidshow applications on the internet.

If you're interested in using "themes" in your slideshows, then I strongly suggest you take a look at Pulpmotion (http://www.pulpmotion.com/). It's a spectacular application that will entertain the viewer with its large assortment of themes. There's a free trial version you can download from their website.

For more control over your slideshows--for instance, if you want to control the timing and transitions for individual photos--take a look at Boinx Software's Fotomagico (http://www.boinx.com/fotomagico/overview/). It's a great app, and since its last update is now very stable with Tiger, and has yet to show any glitches with Leopard.

Of course, the above mentioned applications are $45+, so they will indeed make you dig into your pockets a little bit.

For an alternative to Fotomagico, I suggest to take a look at Photo Presenter; it's a $15 application that's similar to Fotomagico. Unfortunately, there's little technical support available if you run into a problem.

One of my favorite apps is called Photo to Movie. The unique thing about this particular slideshow program is that you can designate keyframes on individual photos. What you can do with these keyframes is "move" the photo from one point to another, making it seem as if it's a real movie. So, for instance, if I have a photo with five people, all different heights, I can set five different keyframes, so that the "camera" zooms in to each face, then slowly moves to the next, and so on; and I can set a sixth keyframe to bring the photo back to normal magnification, so that all five people are visible together. There's a free trial version available online (http://www.lqgraphics.com/software/phototomovie.php).

I have all of these applications, and all of them give me something a little different. I use Pulpmotion when I've got clients who require something more than just flipping through photos on their DVD, and actually want to see them in motion.

I use Fotomagico for extreme control over the duration, transition, and overall composition of the slideshow.

I use Photo Presenter for quick slideshows that I really don't need themes for, nor want to use any extreme control over the presentation.

And, finally, I use Photo to Movie to get that extra pizazz in the slideshow, using keyframes.

Let me know if you need any further help with this.

Thanks,
Vishad
