Description:
It happens when I try to copy & paste from one column to an adjacent column in whole page view (it worked fine with MacOS 8.1). This still happened even after installing the Office 98 8.5 update/fix, re-installing Word 98, and re-running the update/fix. Norton 4.0 CrashGuard enabled.

Thanks for using No Wonder! There are a few things to check here...first of all, disable Norton Crashguard. It is known to cause more instability than it solves. Second, try allocating more memory to Word98.
If neither of these solves the problem, your best bet is to call Microsoft tech Support and ask them if this is a known issue; it's possible that it is a known problem that didnt' make it into the first 8.5 patch for Office 98. Make sure to call the Mac Word 98 support line; MS's main number in Redmond WA can give you that number to call directly; other than the phone call, it's a free tech support call.
I'll be more than happy to 'backstop' your interaction with MS tech support...if you need me to suggest responses or translate their wonderfully helpful (aHEM) responses to your questions, write me directly.
